Jaylen Reyes - Block/Defense Systems Workshop (Recording)

29.00

This webinar featured Jaylen Reyes, Assistant Coach at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and took place on Saturday, May 30, from 2:00 - 4:00pm Eastern time.

Jaylen is the defensive coordinator for a Nebraska squad that led the Big 10 in Opponent Efficiency and Blocking. Nebraska has been consistently one of the best defensive squads in the country for years now, so I can’t give all the credit to Jaylen. But I think it’s also clear that he’s making an impact on an already-strong squad.

Jaylen comes from a strong volleyball background and was an All-American at BYU as a player. He also coached on the men’s side before joining the Nebraska staff. I wanted to know what he’s learned from Nebraska Head Coach John Cook, and what he’s brought to Nebraska that’s uniquely his.

In this 2-hour long Coaches Workshop, I analyzed Nebraska game film with Jaylen. We focused on Defensive Systems, and analyzed how Nebraska:

  1. Sets up their base defense.

  2. How they defend left, right, and middle attacks.

  3. How they make adjustments in and out-of-system.

  4. Why reading is a critical part of their system and how they teach it.

  5. What digging moves are critical to making it work.

And more!

This download includes the Workshop Video, along with a 10-page mini-book summarizing the major points discussed.
